We know it can be tempting to wipe the dirt stain as soon as it happens, but resist that urge! If you try to remove the stain when it’s still wet, you will actually work it deeper into the fabric, making it harder to get out. Scrape off the excess dirt or mud. Once the stain is completely dry, gently scrape off the clumps of dirt that are on the surface of your clothing item. Soak the stain in detergent and leave for 15 minutes. Rub liquid laundry detergent over the stain and let it rest for at least 15 minutes. Every 3-5 minutes, rub the stain to help the detergent loosen the remaining debris. Apply stain remover and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Before you put your clothing item in the wash, we recommend applying a stain remover to the area and rubbing it in for additional removal power. Wash and dry your clothing item. It’s finally time to wash your clothing item! Wash and dry as directed and see your handy work.
Note – you may need to repeat the steps three, four, and five if the mud stain is still there after your clothing item dries.
Always Remember to Read the Tag!
When getting out a dirt stain, you should always read the laundering tag that can be found on the inside of your clothing item. That tag is there to shed light on what you can and cannot do to that particular piece in order to clean it in the best way possible. For instance, before using chlorine bleach on a white clothing item, check the tag to make sure it won’t damage the fabric.
