Most nights, I went to bed with my kindergartener (early!) so luckily mom stayed rested!
Brian and I had a much needed date night at Savoir last night and it was so good to catch up and talk about everything that’s been going on lately.
It’s been a heavy week with all of the world events. I never feel like I know what to say, but my heart is saddened. I’m glad I canceled my cable because I really can’t take the constant barrage of information and it’s so easy to get sucked in.
It’s okay if you feel overwhelmed by it all. I think most of us feel that way. We are doing the best we can to raise and support our families and that matters too. Sending you so much love during these turbulent times.

This week on the blog, I got busy sharing lots of “almost Fall” outfits. I’m happy for the opportunity to turn to lighthearted things and I’m always thankful you are here for it too.

Now onto today’s outfit post, full of goodness from Old Navy! While I was trying on these things, we had a major thunderstorm. I happened to catch the biggest lightening strike and our lights flickering before we lost power for several hours. You’ll see it when I share the live video to Stories on Sunday!

For Size Reference: I’m a shorty (5’1) and petite, weighing about 110. I typically wear size 0p/25 jeans, XS in tops and dresses.

Our wardrobes are getting an update with warmer colors and Fall florals in this lightweight blouse. It’s perfect for now while it’s still hot out, but the colors lend itself to Autumn. The ruffled dress it up and make it an option for either work or weekend.

I saw that these mid-rise Rockstar Skinny jeans are on sale and pulled my pair out of my closet. I’ve had them for years, but don’t reach for them as often because I tend to go for high rise jeans. I have to say, these felt a little weird at first, but then more like an old friend.
If you want to try a mid-rise jean, these are still a great pair and you can’t beat the price. They are a darker wash with just enough fading to make them look worn in, but still easy to dress up.
But, if you want the Rockstar Skinny jean in a high rise, you’re in luck!

If your cardigans could use a refresh, this one by Old Navy is a great basic. It’s an open style with side pockets and a tight knit. The “Dateline” color is a gorgeous warm burnt orange, but it also comes in a ton of other colors.

When I want to wear a tee, but feel a little more dressed up, choosing one that has details like a button front makes it a bit more special. It’s just as easy to wear as your everyday tee, but looks more elevated.

Gosh, how cute is this chambray top?! The bow front is so sweet, and it has a smocked back! The sleeves are slightly puffed and I love how it gently skims your body, accentuating the smallest part under your chest.
My tip for wearing denim on top and bottom is to vary the colors. Like here, with a light wash top and darker wash jeans.

This is a tank you’ll want to stock up in, especially in solid colors. It goes with everything, is super soft and I love the fit and style. You also can’t beat it at $6!

If you’re looking for an alternative to jeans, try these chino pants. I was so happy with the way they fit and felt when I put them on. They’re easy to wear with a high waist and slightly tapered leg that looks extra cute cuffed at the bottom.

We’re not done with tanks and camisoles here. It’s still 90 degrees and we likely won’t get relief until October! This yellow smocked top is flirty and fun. I’d wear it for running around on the weekends with shorts, or dressed up for a date night.

My favorite way to transition to Fall is to add a bootie. And a bootie with this gingham dress is just too cute! I like how the shorter length is balanced by the puffed sleeves and conservative neckline. It would also look good with a cardigan or jean jacket.

What a lovely end-of-summer dress! The grey and white stripe is right up my alley and it has adjustable tie shoulders, a tiered skirt and pockets. It’s even cute from behind with a smocked back!

You can’t go wrong with this clip dot dress. It has button detailing down the front with elbow length sleeves and a midi skirt. It’s so relaxed and easy to wear with pockets!

Wow! This might be my favorite sweatshirt dress I’ve tried on. I just love how it fits and it’s not super hot. The material is on the thinner side, but still really soft inside. It has a hoodie, drop shoulders, and a wide hem.
I can totally see throwing this on in the morning for school drop off, then going about your errands feeling comfortable and cute!
